Meet the Principal

Welcome to Willard!

 

My name is Maricela Brambila and I am excited to be serving as Willard’s principal.  I am a Pasadena native and went to PUSD schools.  However, my deep appreciation for the Willard community and the IB Programme began in 2009, when I enrolled my son at Willard (and subsequently my daughter in 2011.)  From 2009 to 2017, I was grateful to be a part of Willard and now I am thrilled to be a part of the team that provides that warm and welcoming community to your child.  

Willard’s exceptional staff is committed to providing our students with rigorous, engaging and relevant learning in a nurturing and supportive environment.  Our staff not only works to nurture your child’s natural curiosity through IB’s Inquiry-based Instruction, but also helps students understand how subjects, and the world around them, connect through Conceptually-based Instruction.  Students learn about themselves, their families, their communities, and the world around them.  Indeed, they are encouraged to become responsible citizens who “Think Globally, Act Locally.”  Through their carefully crafted Units of Study, teachers also help develop the IB Learner Profile where students are encouraged to be:  Inquirers, Knowledgeable, Thinkers, Communicators, Principled, Open-Minded, Caring, Risk-takers, Balanced, and Reflective.
